Gary Blanchard now serves in the Texas Conference, but most recently was the associate/youth pastor at the Wenatchee church in Washington. An ordained minister and graduate of the Theological Seminary at Andrews University, Blanchard has been a pastor for 15 years and has served as a Bible teacher, academy chaplain, associate youth director, church planting coordinator, youth pastor and district pastor. He and Joe Goodrich have been close friends and partners in ministry for several years. Blanchards role in the Fisherman Ministry has been primarily to promote, encourage and to provide resources. He and his wife Erica have three children.
At 64 years of age, Joe Goodrich started the Fisherman Ministry, with Gary Blanchards help. The ministry has one purpose: to train lay men and women to effectively give Bible studies to people of all ages who are ripe for the harvest. Goodrich has had the opportunity to teach men and women around the world. Recently he was invited to Kenya to do a series of meetings and train people to give Bible studies. During his stay, 118 were baptized. Upon returning home, he designed Bible studies for the Fisherman in Kenya and translated them into Swahili. Since then, 97 more have been baptized.
